Saturday, May 1st: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Litchfield Carnegie Building grounds
We are so excited to announce our first-ever Art in the Park Festival, which we're holding from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 1st, on the Litchfield Carnegie Building grounds!
Sponsor an Artist
We're offering member businesses the opportunity to sponsor an "artist" to create a sure-to-be masterpiece reflecting the theme of "A Stroll Down Memory Lane." Sponsors can select someone they know to create their artwork on free-standing easels positioned around the Carnegie Building grounds, or select someone from a list of "willing artists" we can provide. Visitors will be able to leisurely stroll around the grounds, watching the artists at work--we will also have special musical guests performing and other interesting types of entertainment throughout the day.
Prizes Will Be Awarded
Specially selected judges will determine our winners, who will receive cash prizes in these categories:
- Youth: ages 10 and under ($25, $15, and $10 prizes)
- Junior: ages 11 to 15 ($25, $15, and $10 prizes)
- Senior: ages 16 to 18 ($75, $50, and $25 prizes)
- Adult (Amateur): ages 19 and older ($100 and $50 prizes)
- Adult (Professional; someone who is an experienced artist that has sold their artwork in the past): ages 19 and older ($250 prize)
Each Artist Must Be Sponsored by a Chamber Member Firm!
Each artist must be sponsored by a Chamber member firm--sponsorships are $150. For your sponsorship you will receive advertising coverage before, during, and after the event through blast emails, on social media (Facebook, etc.), on WSMI broadcasts, on the new Chamber website, and on signage the day of the event. You will also be provided a table next to the artist where you can display brochures, products, job applications, etc., chat with visitors, and so forth. And, of course, you will be helping us help you and other local businesses make your operation even more successful.
We are asking our artists to donate their creations to a Silent Auction, with funds raised going to help the Chamber with future events, administration, etc. One of these artists' creations is sure to look just perfect on that empty spot on your wall! Click on the red box below to sponsor an artist or for detailed registration information and rules regarding this event.
Pop-Up Bar / Refreshments / Children's Activities
We will be featuring an enclosed Pop-Up Bar / Refreshments Lounge where you can purchase craft beers, wine, beer, soda, and water. We will also provide a Children's Creative Corner hosted by Lily Pad Learning Center from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. where parents and guardians can leave their child(ren) ages 3 to 12 for up to 90 minutes with a licensed child care professional and volunteers. Children will be able to create wonderful works of art of their own in this secure, fenced-in area.
A special attraction will be a "Box Full of Memories" station where you can write down a favorite memory of the past and drop it in the box. We will publish selected memories in a future email blast, on social media, and on our website.
